It takes courage to go after something you really want.
Something deep and special.
Something hard to justify.
Something made for you in mysterious ways.
I went after that recently.
I knew the odds were slim, but I tried anyway.
I pushed through the self doubt and imposter syndrome.
I was strongly supported by people who love me.
It was a call to greater purpose and passion.
An energy that evokes big memories and feelings.
A path that could hold my next chapter.
And I failed.
The call was not realized.
The energy was not met with acceptance.
The path will not continue.
You might think this would crush me.
You might feel sorry or sad for me.
You might believe this could be devastating.
But I see it so differently.
I experience failure as a wise mentor.
A guiding grace that can only offer growth.
A mirror to own my current reality.
When we fail, I believe we learn in deeper ways.
We have a lens into new perspective and truth.
We gain powerful awareness that “success” will never offer.
Failure presents an opportunity to pause, reflect, and consciously choose our next step.
Failure is a means to examine what we’re really made of.
I’m grateful for the risk I took, the feelings I felt, and the opportunity to learn from a real act of courage.
Failure is a friend that sits right next to courage.
