Last week I gave a speech to 120+ intentional fathers about showing up.
To show up seems like a simple action. It seems like something we normally do. We show up to the day. We show up to our job. We show up to take care of our family, friends and community.
Pretty simple, right? Just show up.
I think that’s easy to say.
I think it’s completely different to do.
You see… I think most people are NOT showing up. I think they’re hiding behind their fears, stories and performances.
We hide behind fear because it’s easier than facing uncertainty.
We create stories because it’s easier than honoring our truth.
We perform because it’s easier for the world to like us.
Truly showing up requires courage. It requires integrity. It requires authenticity.
Truly showing up is how you come alive and make your greatest contributions. It’s how you make the impact you were meant to make. It’s how you live the life you were designed for.
